The Worm and the Bird
By Coralie Bickford-Smith
Synopsis
A spellbinding clothbound fable about searching and hoping, and how the smallest moment can be beautiful. Deep below the earth, Worm dreams of having more space. There's not much room down there. Above, Bird waits, through sun and rain and wind. As the day goes on, will they both find what they are looking for?

Contributor's Note
This book has a very pretty cover and contains lots of illustrations. It’s also about a worm trying to reach his dreams of getting out of the environment that he lives in… and then he encounters a bird. It’s a short story that made me think about what’s most important in life. What you take away from this book will depend on how you perceive it, much like a Rorschach test.
