Cermor (Second Edition)

By: GERIMIS Art Project

A collection of nine folklores told by Wah Ngah a/p Pandak of Kampung Sahom, Kampar, and Ajak Alang of Kampung OA Rasau, Tanjung Malim in the state of Perak. Cermor is an oral storytelling session among the Semai people of the Orang Asli community. It is usually told at night as a form of entertainment as well as to convey moral teachings, taboos, and so on.

A very interesting passion project where the creators interviewed and noted down oral tales passed down through the generations, which also gives an inkling into the Semai people’s psyche, environment, beliefs and fears.
