Film is Not Dead: Pictures Shot with Kodak UltraMax

On Loan

Film is Not Dead is literally a small publication about photography: paying tribute to film photography in a rising global trend of digital and instant photography. The photographs taken delves into the photographer's family life, essentially bringing together two of his obsessions: capturing flesh & blood through film photography. The Photographer uses both the packaging and print to showcase his love and passion for taking pictures with his favourite Kodak UltraMax 400 film. As you can see, every detail of an actual Kodak film box is replicated for this publication, even the typelogo 'film is not dead' is designed with elements used typically in the film industry. The cardboard film box and diecut are created exactly like any film box you can purchase commercially with the parody on the fine details seen in the packaging design. And within the box. You will similarly find an actual film canister in which the photography booklet is rolled into: just like how you will find a roll of negative film. Only a limited edition of 300 'film is not dead' were produced and it was sold out over a weekend at the 2018 Singapore Art Book Fair.
